I really dont know how this custom originated, but is surely a thing we can live without…

Hey everyone! I’m back from New Jersey, and fully got the website up to date, and I even finished screenshotting all the catalogs I still needed to do! So starting tomorrow, I’ll be working on that. I hope to be done with all the catalogs by the end of July, although I have nearly 300 MB of catalog pictures to upload…..

Anyway, we updated a ton of pages. They Club Penguin fansite include the following lists/guides: Club Penguin Event Log, Item List, and the Dance/Wave/Sit List

No, I don’t think you’re being uptight or killjoy. I absolutely hate this ritual too. I don’t know what fun one gets out of it. I mean, you spend ages trying to look good on your birthday and in the end you end up with a cake smeared face and ruined clothes. I remember how several times I would refuse to cut the cake until certain people who I knew would do this would promise me that they won’t. But they never kept their promise. So I resorted to cutting the cake, running towards the bathroom before anyone could lay their hands on me and lock myself there. Talk about fun on your birthday. :-/

I liked the point that you raised abotu the dress. How did I miss this one?
Its not the question of age I think, after all whatever the age may be we are never too old to blow the candles, make a wish and enjoy the yummy cake?

I too hate the smearing ritual. It is no fun. It is disgusting and annoying. It’s a big downer. That kind of discourages you from being in your best dress on that day. Anyway, I think I’ve grown too old for these things!
