Chak De, Aaja Nachle, Rang De Basanti,Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par-well these movies carried a message of awakening. They manage to do their worth of soul stirring. They inspired us to take our own stands and fight for our rights be it for Jessica Lall or Youth For Equality against Resevervations- HALLA BOL was done by us.

The movie simply fails to shake your heart, stir your soul, awaken your spirit or give you goosebumps.

Raj Kumar Santoshi gave thuders to many people when his ex-protege Sunny Deol screamed -’TAREEKH PE TAREEKH’ in Damini. He managed to give us tears when the elder brother Raj Babbar goes missing in Ghayal. He even managed to shook us in Lajja.

But herein Halla Bol he fails to live up to his own mettle. Ajay Devgan has not been optimally used as an actor. He looks lost in the entire script. Here his silence doesn’t speaks for himself a la ZAKHM. Instead its Pankaj Kapur who is indeed the hero of the movie. Vidya Balan was wasted. The child actor was simply irritating while crying. No feelings arise to get up and do HALLA BOL for our rights. Music reminds you heavily of FIZA (Sukhwinder Singh trying his best to churn out AR Rahman tpye melodies and no need to say fails)
